Nova Scotia to remove U.S. alcohol, hike tolls in response to tariffs

Nova Scotia NDP leader Claudia Chender said Saturday that the tariffs could be “devastating” for the province. 

“The livelihoods of thousands of Nova Scotians are at risk, and we need to be ready to respond,” Chender said in a news release. “We continue our call for a task force to support affected workers, industries and communities. This group should explore options like grants or loans for exporters and producers to protect local jobs and review options for tax relief or financial support for Nova Scotians who will face rising costs on essential goods because of the tariffs.”
