Legislative calendar in Nova Scotia long overdue, NDP leader says

The new Opposition leader says the government is not living up to that promise when it comes to a legislative agenda.

“I have been clear for years that we need a legislative calendar,” NDP Leader Claudia Chender said.

“Nova Scotians need to know what work is being done on their behalf and when, but governments have resisted that call so we are still in a situation where we are at the mercy of the governing party to determine when committees start, when we go back to the legislature and when any legislative activity at all starts, and my understanding from our House leader (Lisa Lachance) is that we’ve gotten no information on that.”
