Summer is Still Going Strong!

Summer Still Going Strong

Summer is still going strong in Dartmouth South - don’t let the back-to-school sales fool you! This weekend we have the Rock the Harbour Classic Rock Festival happening at Alderney Landing, be sure to check out the line-up here! Next weekend, The Mother Goose Festival will bring puppets, farm animals, treasure and more at Ferry Terminal Park

If you’re like me and you are trying to get as many lake swims in as you can before it’s back to school! Check this link for all things related to beach safety.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Natal Day Parade! Whether you walked in the parade or cheered from the sidelines. It felt really special to get to celebrate Dartmouth with so many of you.

As we look ahead to fall, our office is hearing from many who are struggling with utility costs. If you need assistance communicating with NS Power to set up payment plans, please reach out. In the meantime I will continue to advocate to ensure that electricity is affordable for all.

Similarly we continue to hear from residents of Dartmouth South who are not attached to primary care. Although the Dartmouth South Primary Care clinic is open on Portland St. they are not taking patients, you can only be referred from virtual care or upon release from hospital. A reminder that if you are one of the 160,000+ Nova Scotians without a family doctor or primary care you can use virtual care ns free AND they can refer you to the clinic if you need to be seen in person. Unfortunately many people are paying to use Maple when they don’t have to, the link above will take you to free access. As we await the very late new numbers of unattached patients in our province and in the central health zone we continue to advocate to ensure that all residents are attached to a health home.

I am here to help. If you need support or want to share your experiences, please contact my office or drop by. I’m committed to serving you and being your voice in the province.

As always, if you need assistance, please reach out to my office at 902-406-2301 or claudiachendermla@gmail.com.

Have a wonderful weekend,

Claudia
