Houston government urged to reach pharmacare deal with Ottawa immediately

Nova Scotia NDP Leader Claudia Chender issued a release Friday calling on the Houston government to sign the bilateral agreement immediately.

“The cost of birth control is a serious barrier for many people and we have a historic opportunity to give Nova Scotians a break under this new plan,” Chender said.

“Nova Scotia must sign onto this program immediately. This is long overdue.” 

The Nova Scotia NDP tabled legislation in November 2021 to ensure that anyone without coverage could get birth control for free under the provincial MSI plan.
