Ontario's private health clinic plan raising red flags in Cape Breton
“. . .
“It’s an idea people are very nervous about and rightly so,” said NDP Leader Claudia Chender, who was travelling to Cape Berton this week.
She said people in this province need to be wary of the creep of privatization, particularly given the close proximity to the United States.
Despite the strain, Chender said Nova Scotians are proud of having a fully funded and accessible medical system.
And when private clinics, such as one in her riding in Dartmouth, seek to aggressively expand, it does entice resources away from the public system.
She also said the provincial NDP is worried about the Nova Scotia government emulating the Doug Ford example.”
