“I think good politics is amplifying solutions that exist on the ground and turning them into good policy,” Chender said of her Sept. 20 stops, which included a talk in Blockhouse about food policy and an energy policy meeting in Bridgewater.
“I think we, kind of, broadly, know what the issues are that Nova Scotians are facing but those issues really manifest differently in different places and there are really good solutions that show up in different places.”

“It goes to ensuring people have enough food to eat and ensuring our province is food secure,” she said in a phone interview during her Bridgewater stop. “It’s more important than ever we support our food producers.”
Chender also had meetings with people involved in the local health care and child care sectors. “I think the meetings we’re having today (Sept. 20) reflect a lot of the conversations we’ve been having for years,” said the Dartmouth South MLA, first elected in 2017.
