PC caucus has change of heart about forensic audit of troubled C.B. agency
“. . .
“Nolan Young, the vice-chair of the committee for the government, sent a letter to members of the committee (Wednesday night), saying that they voted that down in error and they did in fact want a forensic audit,” Claudia Chender, the NDP member for Dartmouth South and a committee member, said Thursday.
“There wasn’t an error because they recessed before we took the vote and they decided to vote against it and they did," Chender said. "From my perspective, based on the information that came forward at the committee yesterday, whether or not the committee directs, it’s well within the purview of the auditor general to undertake an audit. We would press that she should do it anyway, regardless of the opinion of the committee.”
