Nova Scotia allowing day camps to open, no new cases found

The MLA for Dartmouth South said the reality is a lot of camps will not even try to open because of the difficulty of meeting public health requirements without going further in the economic hole.

‘For many providers, it doesn't appear to be economically viable in any way to run a camp,’ Chender said on Friday. ‘And that's understandable. We need to put public health first, but when we hear about economic stimulus and reopening the economy, and the importance of all of that, we continue to just hear deafening silence when it comes to the challenges that are faced by working families, and particularly mothers.’

Chender said, as a mother of three, she and her partner rely on day camps in the summertime, and they're not alone, with thousands of school-aged children in the province.
