Nova Scotia government backs out of Halifax school bus contract with Stock Transportation

NDP education critic Claudia Chender agreed, saying that she’s seen no evidence of oversight of the current Stock contract.
‘We’re happy to see action, whether it’s the right action time will tell,’ said Chender. “For there to be someone in the education centre (in charge of oversight) is key, particular in the absence of a school boards.
‘If we had school boards we’d have at least that level of transparency. We could understand the decision process if we could see the numbers, if we could get the statistics that are clearly not forthcoming and we know exist.’
